A clear, accurate stopwatch
This online stopwatch measures time in minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second. The ring sweeps round once every minute, like the seconds hand on a sports watch, and the pendulum swings while it runs. It keeps time from your device clock, so it stays accurate even in a background tab.
Press Lap (or L) to record a split without stopping. Each lap shows its own time and the running total, newest first, so you can compare laps at a glance. Press Pause to stop the clock and Start to carry on; Reset clears everything.
What people use it for
Timing runs, swims and laps of the oval, practice speeches and presentations, science experiments in class, how long a task really takes, puzzle solves, reading speed or cooking steps. For counting down instead of up, use the online timer, or set up rounds with the interval timer.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the stopwatch?
It reads your device clock, so it doesn't drift. The display shows hundredths of a second; tiny delays can come from your screen's refresh rate.
Are my laps saved?
Laps stay on screen until you reset or leave the page. Nothing is sent anywhere.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
Space starts and pauses, L records a lap, R resets and F switches to full screen.
